Earlier today I was reading a humorous blog post about a goat eating the mantle clock of a town’s mayor. After ready a couple more post I learned that you can also spell the word “mantle clocks” as “mantel clocks”. Just a little tidbit there. So anyway, it made me remember about the old clocks in my grand-parents’ home. They had various clocks around the house but the 2 that stuck out were the mantle clock in the living room and the grandfather clock in the study.

The grandfather clock was a work of art with it’s low hanging swinging pendulum and curved wood designs. Standing 7 feet tall it was quite impressive and added a bit of class to the decor. I always coveted the time piece but in the inheritance it went to my cousin. Recently, I’ve been thinking of it and I wanted to get one for my home. Through out the whole year, the holiday season is the only time when my family comes and for the most part we reunite at my house.
